About the competition

Digital disruptions are transforming the way we do business and creating new opportunities to address social and environmental challenges. As we enter the “fourth industrial revolution,” how might new technologies help us transition from our linear “take, make, waste” economy toward a system that is more circular and sustainable over the long-term?

ASU graduate students are invited to answer this question in the Cisco Circular Economy Challenge, an interdisciplinary competition hosted at ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business. In this challenge, teams of students will become Cisco entrepreneurs developing innovative solutions to market opportunities. Teams will apply Cisco and Internet technologies to global problems and opportunities faced by Cisco customers—new products and solutions that enable Cisco customer success. From the Internet of Things to data analytics to blockchain, participants will connect everything and everyone to help create the new circular economy.

The case will be released on March 16th, 2018 and on March 23rd, 2018 teams will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges and compete for prizes:

  • 1st place: $1600

  • 2nd place: $800

  • 3rd place: $400

The event is sponsored by Cisco and organized by the Net Impact Club at the W. P. Carey School of Business.
